An excellent CBT resource for health professionals!

Having worked with youth in the community as a CCW for a number of years prior to transitioning into a clinical/research based program where I have practiced CBT for over a dozen years, I can say with confidence that having an understanding of CBT and a resource such as this would have been very helpful in guiding my early work. This book provides an insightful, practical and well laid out approach which systematically highlights the core components and potential challenges of implementing CBT in a straightforward manner. This book clarifies what is frequently undertaken in clinical settings and provides practical and realistic applications for community based practices. An excellent guide to CBT, it does a great job of filling in potential gaps for the practitioner new to CBT and/or those who seek to advance their knowledge and skills in this area.

A Great Resource!

This book is an excellent resource for a wide variety of practitioners working with children with anxiety and related disorders. Structured in a comprehensive, yet straightforward manner, each chapter breaks down and highlights a key concern of translating aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy to non-academic settings (e.g., using a treatment manual appropriately, managing challenging cases, realistic treatment expectations). What I find particularly useful is the inclusion of a clinical case study and worksheet at the end of each chapter, which helps to solidify core concepts, in addition to providing a detailed list of references for further information. Overall, this is an excellent guide for community practitioners and academics alike.
