Good overview

This text is a good overview of the basic theoretical and practical implications of questionnaire writing for second language research, although it is slightly outdated in terms of computer applications available for questionnaire writing (which is to be expected with a 2003 publication date). I used it this fall in an undergraduate research class and the students found it accessible and informative. I would use it again.

Helpful and practical

I'm a PhD. candidate at the University of Granada in Spain, and this book was highly recommended to me by one of my proffesors as I began creating my own questionaire for my experiment. The book is concise, practical, and laid out in a logical manner. It address in brief both issues and problems that are easily encountered in this topic as well as stimulates the reader to think about "how to" in a reasonable manner. It is not a heavy book and can be read within two or three sittings.
I would highly recommend this book, and will do so.

A must get for starters!

This book helped me through out the creation of my questionnaire on my first time research, to the process of administration (before, during and after), coding answers into SPSS (this was not explained into details, but sufficient enough to know how to do the basics). It helped me a lot! It has a lot of tips, do's and don'ts. If you are considering using a questionnaire for your research, this is the perfect book for learners in second language research.
